Potosi Brewery

Brandon's company, Fleck Sales, just started distributing Potosi beer, out of Potosi Wisconsin.  Neither of us had ever visited the area, so we thought it would be a great excuse to check it out.  We planned to make a weekend out of it, with hotel reservations at a place Brandon used to visit as a kid.  He was hoping the atmosphere was just how he had remembered!  The sun was shining, we stuffed the car full and headed out!  My family joined in on the fun, and after meeting in Dubuque, we car pooled to the brewery.

Even in the dead of winter, when all is dull, the drive was very pretty.  Weaving in and out of the small little towns, the view of the endless country side, and the undiscovered sites around each curve.  We arrived and they were waiting for us!  The second you walk in, you can just feel the history.

Sorry peanut, you have 20 years left before you can have what Daddy is having!

Natural spring water used to make the beer...and yes our child was on the restaurant floor!

After a very yummy lunch, we stood up to stretch our legs and took the museum tour.  It was by chance when we entered the elevator, it happened to be along side with a die hard beer guy, who was not on his first tour.  He knew the history and stories behind many of the pieces displayed, and was full of knowledge.

Henley did great, she took advantage of the wide open spaces
We very much enjoyed our time in Potosi, and are planning a return trip very soon.  For more information on the brewery, visit http://www.potosibrewery.com/.

Next stop...the pool!!

Warming up, putting piggies in first.

(side note: do you ever wonder if you have been that person in the back round of others family photos?)

I am sad to report after about 20 minutes of swimming, we all had goosebumps and scatted the pool.  Brandon remembers spending endless hours in this very pool as a kid, & never complaining.  We concluded it was because he was a kid, who was resilient to a lot!  We enjoyed snacks and beverages by the pool side and caught up in conversation.  The place was busy, full of other families just like ours enjoying a little time away from the cold!
