Today Henley is one week old! Brandon and I are just amazed at how much she has changed in just one week. Our days are surrounded solely by her needs, so as the evenings arrive, we wonder where the day has gone! She in just an amazing being, and makes us laugh with all the facial expressions she makes. From puckering lips, to smiles, every time she squirms we hover over her and just stare!
We know she doesn't know what she is doing, but it sure melts our hearts
Big yawn
Today she had her one week well baby check with Dr. Thomas here in Center Point. We are so glad to have her doctor right here in town as we woke to some really nasty weather. Sleet, freezing rain, cold and slick roads. One hour before leaving our power went out! We headed to the appointment a bit early only to walk into a dark office...their power was out too! Thankfully as we were waiting, the lights came back on, few, that made me feel much better. Henley currently weights 6lbs 8ozs, BIG GIRL! She is a growing bean and doing very well. Dr. Thomas said she looks great so we will see him back in 2 months.
Bright eyes
This week also brought our first outing! We headed out yesterday to gather a few baby items and groceries. Our first stop was Target, and I was telling Henely how one day very soon she will love this store. Second stop HyVee, I need to get used to this whole car seat in cart deal, still makes me a bit nervous. It felt good to get out and about, I think we all needed it.
Besides the initial fuss getting strapped in, she doesn't mind her car seat
She is still eating and sleeping well. We have not moved her to her to her crib yet, we will work on that in the next few weeks. So we have her in our room sleeping in her lamb seat, which works out great. It just makes us feel so much better that she is right next to us so we can see and hear her. Once we get more of a schedule, we will transition her into her big girl bed!
Big brother KJ is doing so much better! He is really getting used to the noises she makes, although if she peeps while he is near, he will poke his head in to her swing or seat just to sniff her out. He is also very curious when we change her diaper. He follows us in her room and will sit and wait until we are done. Curiosity I suppose!
Brandon and I are living in the moment and loving it!
