Today KJ had an appointment with the vet because he had been favoring his front right leg. In fact at times he refused to use it, limping around on 3 legs, taking the stairs very slowly, even whimpering...it was a sad site! The exam indicated he was very tender, and the doc was unsure exactly the cause so he wanted to take xrays. Unfortunately I had to leave him for a few hours as he needed to be sedated because they had to put him in positions that would be painful. I did not like leaving him behind, but an hour later the doc called with the verdict - severe arthritis. In fact, he said so bad that it had caused a crack which clearly explained why he wouldn't put weight on that leg. So an anti-inflammatory was prescribed and we are hoping this helps to make him comfortable. He is still very sore tonight, as they said he would be for the first few days, but he just looks so sad, and it breaks my heart!
I know in no time he should have his spunk back! His sister misses his kisses!
We love you buddy!

So sorry to hear about KJ, it makes me very sad. Unfortunately, our pets are getting older to and don't like to think about. Severe arthritis isn't good, but it could have been a whole lot worse. Hang in there. I dread the day something happens to Mickey, it is going to break my heart. They are not just animals, they are pets and part of our families. Hope he gets to feeling better soon.
