"may I please have some Daddy?"
Henley has had her eyes on KJ for some time now, very aware of where he is, watching him enter and leave the room, but recently she was able to get her hands on him! She got so excited she buried her head into him! KJ is so gentle with her, she is lucky he comes back for more!
This past Memorial Day weekend was full to the brim with travel, family time and new experiences for Henley. It was the first night away from home & she did great! We gathered at Brandon's Aunt Sandy & Uncle Sam's in Urbandale for a family BBQ. They do such a great job hosting and just as last year, we couldn't have ordered more perfect weather. The beverages and back yard games were in fully effect!
Henley didn't want to miss anything, refusing to close her eyes for longer than 10 minutes! Thinking I would have to deal with a crabby child with no nap, she held her own, not complaining at all! We were pretty impressed with her!
Sunday we headed home, unpacked, repacked the cooler and headed out to Rosendahl's cabin. The sun was hot, so I hung out with Henley most of the time in the air conditioning...thank goodness for that unit! We also got to visit with Cheryl as she is still recovering from her second surgery. She missed Henley very much and looks forward to seeing her back in the mornings hopefully next week as long as she is healed! We enjoyed brats on the grill and yummy home made salsa!
Monday we loaded back up and headed to my Mom & Davids! One of the many summer activities we like to part take in is water balloon fights! So Sunday night, Brandon and I sat out on the patio pre-loading 250 balloons! The Wardell's had the same idea in mind, so both of us showed up with coolers full of water bombs! It was fair to say, not many walked away dry!
My Mom bought Henley her very first pool! It is a giant octopus and we quickly realized we have a little fish on our hands! She loved every moment of it!
Cousin Naomi
This morning when I woke, I glanced at the monitor and realized Henley had some how maneuvered out of her wedge and was kicking the back of her crib! When I walked in, this is how I found her! Not a peep out of her, she was quite comfy!
