She received the routine 4 shots in her thighs (oh man) but before we got away, this happened!
OUCH! It is now required that all children ages 12 - 15 months be checked for lead levels. We know this is very important, and by having a complete profile drawn, they also check for conditions such as anemia. They however started in the arm (ugh!) and after a tourniquet, and palpitation for the perfect vein...big stick, and no blood (I'm sweating at this point). Okay, on to the finger poke... and it was messy! Henley had blood on her face, legs..it ended up on the sleeve of my arm, the Kleenex box, table, on the carpet, 2 nurses and a chuk covered! AAhhh, she fought them hard and at the end...still no blood! She was SO upset, and rightfully so! So now what you ask?? Round two at her 15 month check (nooooooo)!
Big sad eyes for good reason! We love you punkin!
