I'm always a day or two late on my posts, but better late than never. It is so nice to have a long holiday weekend to look forward to, and like usual, it was jam packed with a Beer and Wine tasting at the Whiteheads, a UFC man's night at our house, Rosendahl's cabin and time well spent with the family. Our friend Andrew introduced this awesome box he built used to cook pork loins, beer chicken, and well anything you could think of. Light the charcoal on top, and approx two hours later, the meat was ready to serve. Check it out...

Monday was a very special day, Jasmine our 5th grade niece won a writing contest about the American Flag. We were all very honored as we gathered at the Dike High School for a Memorial Day Service, guest speaker was Senator Chuck Grassley. Jasmine read her letter a loud, she was so brave. My hands were sticky, heart a little nervous, but of course to no surprise she did outstanding, just like a natural. It was a great time to sit back and reflect at how blessed we are to be living in the United States, and it was overwhelming to see all the veterans stand up in the auditorium (including my Mom, she was in the Navy) Thank you all!!

Afterwards, we headed to Mom & David's for a BBQ with the rest of the fam damly :) I just have to add this, because it makes me laugh, Naomi asked if she could ride with Uncle Brandon and I. It didn't take her long to scrap up anything and well, everything in the back seat to attach to her body. She is so funny...

Thank you Auntie Rachel for my Memorial Day/4th of July treats. You always think of me, and you pick out the best treats! You spoil me almost more than my Mom & Dad!

As for your niece in the back seat, isn't it amazing what kids can come up with to keep busy?? Very funny!
